Dr. Chris Edwards is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Temple University School of Dentistry, both with honors. He completed a General Practice Residency at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu and he practiced in Hawaii for 5 years before moving to Rhode Island where he practiced for 20 years. Dr. Edwards established the Smile Design Center in 2003 in Viera, Florida. Dr. Edwards has pursued extensive continuing education throughout his career. His areas of focus have included the study of Occlusion (TMJ and bite), Cosmetic Dentistry and Smile Design, Orthodontics, Dental Implants including surgical placement, Laser Dentistry, Biologic (holistic) Dentistry, Ozone, and Minimally Invasive Dentistry.
In July 2013, Dr. Edwards completed advanced training at the American College of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry where he received Board Certification; and earned the degree of Naturopathic Doctor (ND). He continues training in the fields of Biologic Dentistry, Implants and Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Edwards and his wife Judy have collaborated, written and published numerous articles on dentistry and oral health. Judy is an artist at the Fifth Avenue Gallery and is establishing an Intergenerational Day Care Facility. They have two daughters. Mae lives in Boston and works for Sales Force. Jill is a graduate of FIT and Embry Riddle School of Aviation and works for XO Jet as the Director of Safety. She her husband Stuart and two greynounds live in Sacremento CA.
Dr. Edwards has many interests including sailing, kayaking, woodworking, old cars, organic gardening and travel.
