OZONE CAN BE INTRODUCED via ozonated oil (primarily olive oil). Ozone is bubbled through oil until it forms a salve/balm type consistency. This is used to treat skin conditions, hemorrhoids, vulvovaginitis and insect bites/bee stings.
Ozone therapy consists of the introduction of ozone into the body via differing methods, usually involving mixing the ozone with various gases and liquids and injecting into the body in multiple ways, including the vagina, rectum, intramuscular (in a muscle) or sub-cutaneously (under the skin). Ozone can be introduced via autohemotherapy, in which blood is drawn from the patient, exposed to ozone and re-injected into the patient. There is also ozonated oil (primarily olive oil). Ozone is bubbled through oil until it forms a salve/balm type consistency. This is used to treat skin conditions, hemorrhoids, vulvovaginitis and insect bites/bee stings.
Ozone therapy has been used in the treatment of various diseases including cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, heart disease, Alzheimer’s Dementia and Lyme, among others. One proposed mechanism for its use in treating cancer comes from the theory that cancer does not thrive or grow in a high oxygen environment, and the ozone therapy will increase oxygen in the body and therefore help treat the cancer.
Ozone is a powerful oxidizer. Ozone kills 63 different bacteria, 25 different fungi and mold spores, 13 fungal pathogens, 15 different viruses and 13 encysted protozoa. It kills bacteria at lower concentrations than chlorine and kills 3,500 times faster. Why are microorganisms destroyed by ozone? Unhealthy microorganisms lack antioxidant enzymes in their cell membranes and the extra molecule of oxygen in ozone gets inside the cell wall and destroys it.
As a result of oxygen/ozone exposure, there is an up-regulation of the immune system. There is enhanced production of immune based cytokines, which sparks a ‘Cytokine Biologic Cascade’ in the lymphoid microenvironments thus enhancing humoral and cell-mediated immunity. In addition, pathogen apoptosis allows for ‘immunologic education’ and subsequent whole body pathogenic recognition and kill.
Ozone and ozone therapy is an amazing healing tool. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, it has never been embraced by mainstream medicine. One theory is that its economic value has never been realized in large part because it was grandfathered in from the “old days.” Without a reasonable profit potential, pharmacological companies have not focused on promoting it and making it readily available for providers.
When ozone is mentioned, most people have only heard of it as a result of smog and global warming. Ozone is formed near ground level by the reaction of ultraviolet light with hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxide, sulfur compounds, etc. to produce a photochemical smog.
But, ozone is not the cause of the smog, but rather a byproduct of it. It becomes a byproduct because it is a powerful oxidizer and actually helps clean the atmosphere of dangerous compounds. It is also used to measure pollution because it is the most consistent element present in the various types of pollutants.
