Return of a Tooth
Single tooth replacement with implants is one of the biggest advances in dentistry in the last 20 years. When a tooth is lost there is stress placed on the remaining teeth. If the teeth on either side of a missing tooth are healthy, it is almost a crime to cut them down and make a 3-unit bridge. The life expectancy of a bridge is limited, statistically 10 years, and the teeth that support the bridge are working overtime. When an implant is added to the system it actually takes the strain off of the adjacent teeth and adds strength back to the whole system. If there is adequate bone to support an implant, it is the best treatment option.
