Microdentistry is minimally invasive dentistry. It often relates to teeth that have small cavities which have been diagnosed with the DIAGNODENT. The tooth is treated with minimally invasive techniques that preserve as much of the structure of the natural tooth as possible.
We at Smile Design Center recognize that the optimal time to halt decay is before it becomes deeper. Deep decay requires a more extensive filling and therefore compromises the long term strength of a tooth. This often cascades to larger fillings, crowns, onlays, root canals and tooth loss.
Air-abrasion and the WATERLASE MD LASER are used to eradicate the decay. The tooth is then filled with a flowable resin, a strong SEALANT like material, which is called a Preventive Resin Restoration. These are often done without any Shot or Drilling.
