Arrestin is a newer non-surgical method to treat deep pockets. It is a form of Minocycline which is an antibiotic related to tetracycline.

After root planning of an affected area, Arrestin, which is a gel, is placed into the pocket. It kills any remaining bacteria and is slowly resorbed by the body over a two week period. It also infuses into the root surface leaving a lasting effect.
