Our Dental Assistant Team
members are skilled and trained professionals. They are all certified as EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistants) by the state of Florida. They constantly pursue continuing education in both clinical and inter-personal areas to better serve our patients. Our dental assistants strive to make each patient’s visit as comfortable as possible. The testimonials we receive on their customer service and how comfortable patients feel are impressive.
Born in West Virginia, with over 28 years of dental assisting experience, Missy joined the Smile Design and Implant team in July of 2014. Missy enjoys meeting new people and cherishes the friendships born in the dental practice. Missy attended West Virginia University with an Associate degree in Business Management; Dental Certification from West Virginia; is a Registered Dental Assistant from Concord Career College in San Diego California; and has her Dental Assisting National Board Certification. Missy loves being outdoors, church, traveling, and enjoying the natural beauty of the earth. She has four children who are great and about to start their adventure into independence. She looks forward to meeting you during your dental visits.
Jenny has been an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant since 2004. She joined Smile Design in January 2012. Her passion for engaging and welcoming new patients aided in her evolution to be our Patient Care Coordinator. She meets each new patient and makes them feel at home. Jenny has been trained in attaining and achieving our patient’s outcomes from start to finish. Jenny loves spending time with her parents, sisters and 2 nieces. In her free time, she volunteers for a bible education program.
Ruthie has been in the dental field for over 20 years and truly enjoys dentistry. She joined Smile Design & Wellness Center in early 2015 because she was interested in learning about and providing holistic, biologic dentistry. Her favorite part of her job is being part of creating the outcome for patients; she enjoys helping people with their oral and overall health, and seeing their improvements.
In her spare time Ruthie enjoys bike riding, racquetball, and spending time with her three dogs. She also loves being in the outdoors.
Born and raised in Key West, FL. Sam is an eighth generation Key West Conch! Her family goes back to the Pirate days…legend says her great-great-great grandfather Captain Lowe fought Blackbeard! Sam and her husband Shane moved to Brevard County 2 years ago with their dogs Athena, Dipper and Lucy. Sam joined SDWC May of 2015 and is currently in the Dental Assisting program at Eastern Florida State College. Sam will be graduating the program December of 2016 to become an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and National Board Certified Dental Assistant. Sam is excited to be a part of the SDWC team and have the opportunity of working with Dr. Edwards, and Dr. Brown. Sam is passionate about helping others and making sure their experience at SDWC is the best. Fun facts about Sam – she has been involved in Community Theater and dance for over 15 years. Her favorite Broadway show is the Phantom of the Opera. Sam is a huge Disney fan, her favorite park is the Magic Kingdom. Sam also loves traveling, instructing spin classes and spending time with her friends, and family.
